We’re taking back control

Medical Practitioners Alliance was born from a simple, infuriating realization: insurance companies pay different providers wildly different rates for the exact same work—and we have zero power to negotiate.

One provider gets $225 for an office visit. Another gets $65. Same credentials. Same expertise. Same patient care. The only difference? Insurance companies can exploit us because we negotiate alone.

That ends now.

How We Started

I'm Julie, a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner running an independent psychiatric practice in Arizona.

One day, I discovered a colleague in another state was earning four times what I made for identical work. Same patients. Same billing codes. Completely different respect for our expertise.

I dug deeper and learned the truth: insurance companies don't just pay different rates by state—they pay different rates to different practitioners in the same state with almost no rhyme or reason. It's arbitrary. It's exploitative. And it's designed to keep us powerless.

I got angry. Then I got strategic.

I hired an attorney, studied how Phoenix Children's Hospital negotiates collectively every year, and built a model that works for independent practitioners.

Medical Practitioners Alliance is that model.

What We're Building

Fair Reimbursement Through Collective Bargaining

When one provider asks for a raise, insurers say no and replace you. When 30% of their network threatens coordinated withdrawal, insurers negotiate.

We're building the numbers—state by state, specialty by specialty—to create that leverage.

Affordable Group Health Benefits

Independent practitioners pay double for health insurance compared to hospital-employed providers. We're developing a self-funded health plan to fix that.

A Movement, Not Just a Membership

This only works if enough of us stand together. We're building solidarity across credentials—MDs, DOs, NPs, PAs, all licensed practitioners who accept insurance and are tired of being exploited.

Our Philosophy

Radical Transparency

We publish our financials. We show you exactly where membership fees go. We're honest about risks and realistic about timelines. No overpromising.

Data-Driven Strategy

We don't launch negotiations until we have real leverage. We calculate critical mass thresholds for each state. We set targets transparently and hit them before acting.

Providers United

Historically, healthcare providers have been pitted against each other by credential type. We reject that division. If you're getting exploited by insurance companies, you belong here.

Why This Will Work

Phoenix Children's Hospital does this every year with Arizona insurers—and wins. Hospital systems nationwide negotiate as unified entities and get 40-60% higher rates than independent practitioners for the same work.

The leverage is simple: insurers need providers more than providers need any single insurer. We just need to act collectively to prove it.

When 30% of a network threatens coordinated withdrawal, insurers face a crisis. They can't replace hundreds of providers in 90 days. They can't tell employer clients "your members can't access care." They negotiate.

We're not inventing collective bargaining. We're applying it to independent healthcare providers for the first time at scale.
